"Somehow...this feels awkward...I don't think I--"

"You're still being pursued, aren't you?

"...yes."

"Then take him for now--return him to me when the danger has passed, ok?" Song asked quietly; the ostrichhorse gave a snort and nudged her with his beak.

Zuko stared at her quietly for a minute, then wordlessly mounted the animal.

Another moment passed before he gave a faint smirk.

"When this is all over, I'll come back and show you what I've taught him so far."

Song smiled.

"I know you'll come back--didn't you just hear me ask my pet to return you to me once it's safe? " she said, looking towards the ground and grinning as she stroked the ostrichhorse soothingly between the eyes. The animal gave a throaty chortle as he nuzzled his mistress' hands.

Zuko's eyes narrowed for the briefest of moments before he conceded to the humor of the situation.

"Strange..." he murmured. Song raised an eyebrow.

"What is?"

"This is the first in a long time that I'm going off somewhere, knowing that I'll be welcomed back..."

Silence passed. She couldn't even manage to be flustered as she gave a glowing smile.

"...Just...just return in one piece, ok?"

He finally gave an honest smile.

"Ok."

XD

Another SoKo piece, this time with a drabble. It's a slightly different take from all the usual 'Zuko returns the chocobo to Song' fics. This piece is definitely missing fireflies, but until I learn how to make them, this will have to do. XD

a love it alot very lovely drawing if you want a hafe a group were you can put drawings of avatar the last airbender animals with charachters like zuko and more in my galery
